Basic rock climbing in Summit County truly means climbing in the high country! From bouldering to sport climbing and multi-pitch alpine rock climbing to mountaineering on high peaks, there are options for adventures at many levels.

Rocky Mountain Guides offers various adventure and educational outings to help you get comfortable while experiencing and enjoying the mountains. This is a great program for beginners, families and corporate team building.

Our trips can be described as educational and athletic endeavors. We want to help you through the challenges and fears of this beautiful mountain activity.

Basic Rock Climbing Areas:  Swan Mountain, Montezuma Rock and Blue Lakes

Explore movement in uneven mountainous terrain and learn proper footwork and climbing technique, balance, basic rope work, knots, belaying and rappelling.

Learn about the mountain environment, safety and “red flags” in the sport and explore what this "whole body experience" can give you.

Full day courses run from 8:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. If you are short on time, half day courses can be arranged starting at 8:00 a.m. or 12:30 p.m.
